mother of hope
near to your gentle heart
I learn to await confidently.
Your masterful lessons,
From the annunciation-Incarnation,
from your visit to Elizabeth,
from your return to the temple,
searching for your lost son,
from Cana in Galilea,
for so many years,
from that experience on Golgotha,
from this Saturday,
in which you experienced,
hour to hour,
the patient awaiting
of dawn and the brightening sun.
In which you acknowledged
how your hope
became a tangible reality,
before the extraordinary
event of the resurrected son.
Intercede,
so that following your model,
my life always
may be affirmed in hope,
