The spokesman for the Holy See, Joaquín Navarro-Valls commented on Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ,” saying “there is nothing anti-Semitic” in the film because otherwise the Holy Father would have denounced it.
“The Pope has seen the film and the silence of the Church hierarchy is very eloquent. There is nothing anti-Semitic, because otherwise it would have been condemned,” Navarro-Valls explained.
