The Baja California State Congress has voted to reform its constitution to guarantee the right to life of the unborn, making it the next Mexican state after Sonora to head off attempts to legalize abortion.
Representatives from all the major political parties voted to amend article 7 of the State Constitution to protect the life of the unborn “from conception to natural death, without exceptions.”
The move comes as the two Mexican states of Sonora and Chihuahua recently amended their constitutions to protect the right life in the wake of the legalization of abortion in Mexico City.
