Pope to remain in Castel Gandolfo until next Friday

After his return to Rome from Brazil, where he presided over the inauguration of the 5th General Conference of the Latin American Bishop’s Council, Pope Benedict XVI traveled to his residence at Castel Gandolfo where he will remain until next Friday.

Upon arriving at the Ciampino airport outside Rome, the Holy Father was greeted by Italy’s Minister of Family Affairs, Rosy Bindi, the vicar of the Diocese of Rome, Cardinal Camillo Ruini, and other prelates.

This Wednesday the Pontiff will take a break from his habitual weekly audience at St. Peter’s Square.
