The Christian Liberation Movement is denouncing the mistreatment of Cuban political prisoner Jose Daniel Ferrer, saying he is the victim of continuous abuse by Communist officials.
In a statement, the CLM reported that seven months ago Ferrer was put into solitary confinement and has not been allowed to receive food or clothing sent to him by family members.
The movement also condemned his transfer to the Potosi prison, known for its inhumane treatment of inmates.
Last August, it was revealed that a prisoner at Potosi was confined without clothing in a cage called the “punishment cell,” where where mosquitoes fed on his unprotected body.
The CLM called on all defenders of human rights to demand Cuban officials halt the life-endangering abuse of Ferrer.
