Police in Burgos, Spain have detained a man who is being charged with stealing a tabernacle from a local church.
Europa Press reports that the 43 year-old man showed up at the parish rectory early in the morning asking the pastor for money. After he was turned away he angrily entered the church and grabbed the wooden tabernacle from one of the chapels and made off with it.
He was arrested by police shortly after, and the tabernacle was found a few hours later in a park adjacent to the parish.
