In anticipation of the beginning of the Pauline Year next Saturday, the Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff announced today that celebrations of the Apostle will commence with Vespers.
The Roman basilica of St. Paul's Outside-the-Walls will host the celebration of first Vespers at 6 p.m. on Saturday June 28, which is the eve of the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul.
Pope Benedict XVI will preside at the Vespers ceremony to launch the Pauline Year. The ceremony will be attended by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I and by representatives of other Churches and Christian communities.
