The president of the Bishops’ Conference of Spain, Bishop Ricardo Blazquez of Bilbao, condemned the recent attack by the Basque separatist group ETA and called for the “definitive end” of the terrorist organization.
The attack occurred Tuesday in Bilbao, leaving one person wounded.
In a statement also signed by Auxiliary Bishop Carmelo Echenagusia, the bishops condemned the terrorist act and expressed their closeness and support to the victim and his family. They also renewed their commitment to peace and encouraged the “Diocesan community to pray and work for it.”
