Carinal Domenico Calcagno was born February 3, 1943 in Tramontana.
He was ordained a Priest on June 29, 1967 for Genova, Italy. Later, on January 25, 2002, he was appointed Bishop of Bishop of Savona-Noli, Italy, and was ordained as a bishop on March 9, 2002.
On July 7, 2007 he resigned as Bishop of Savona-Noli, Italy upon his appointment as Archbishop (Personal Title) and Secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See. He ceased his role as Secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See on February 28, 2013 upon the retirement of Pope Benedict XVI.
He was appointed as President of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See on July 7, 2011, and elevated to Cardinal on February 18, 2012, being appointed as Cardinal-Deacon of Annunciazione della Beata Vergine Maria a Via Ardeatina. He was installed on May 27, 2012.
