Bishop Wei Jingyi of Qigihar, China, has been released 10 days after being arrested, according to sources with the AsiaNews agency.
The bishop was detained on March 5 and freed this past Sunday, although the news was not made public until yesterday.
The communist government of China has not given a reason for the arrest. Bishop Qigihar works with Catholics who are faithful to the Vatican and live out their faith clandestinely in China.
