For young Philly Catholics, a Q&A session with Archbishop Chaput

Philadelphia's Archbishop Charles J. Chaput will hold a Q&A session for young adults, taking questions on a wide range of topics.

The June 4 event, titled "Chat with Chaput," is a kick-off event for local activities leading up to Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia and to the World Meeting of Families in September.

The Q&A will be held at the Fieldhouse sports bar in Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. It begins at 7:20 with a musical performance by Teresa Peterson, a Philadelphia-based singer and songwriter. A presentation and question and answer session with the archbishop will begin at 8 p.m.

The Philadelphia archdiocese said it expected questions about Archbishop Chaput's vocation to the priesthood, his personal interests, and the World Meeting of Families. Over 100 attendees are expected.

The event is sponsored by the Philly Catholic Youth and Young Adult Ministry, which is part of the Philadelphia archdiocese's Office for Catechetical Formation.

Attendees who want to submit a question to the archbishop may send them through email and through the young adult ministry's Facebook page. Questions will also be taken live.

The World Meeting of Families will be held Sept. 22-27. It is a global Catholic event which seeks to support and strengthen families. St. John Paul II founded the event in 1994. It takes place every three years.

Pope Francis is expected to take part in the 2015 meeting's closing events, which include a papal Mass.
